    On second draft. If we were at 23.5°S, I’d go for sunrise around 06.17 local time on 23rd August 2015 somewhere off the East Coast of Queensland Typically 161°45’E.  Successive iterations would probably get us closer to our true position.  Sunrise is confirmed in that if we were on the East Coast of Queensland, we would be looking east, i.e. out to sea, to see the Sun.  Please see working below.  Frank, you might wish to hold until after72hours. DaveP
