I think Rasalhag is the error in this list. Is that what you meant? And by odd selection... yeah, what the heck! NO Vega, NO Altair, NO Arcturus, and NO VENUS! Was this designed to be only tricky faint stars???

Just a suggestion from a lazy old air navigator, Download HO249(AP3270)-Vol1-2020 Epoch.  Get LHA Aries for said date & time from an almanac.  Go into HO249 at 27N. Run down till you find the correct LHA Aries.  Which seven stars are offered? I've not checked, but it's worth a bet that you'll find most of the five stars selected there.  It's what people do.  You might even spot where the incorrect Rasalhague values come from.  You're bound to find Kochab, cos we all love Kochab.  It's easy to spell and easy to find. DaveP
