In the message below I sent a copy of the Vulcan Force seven star sandwich fix proforma, and I stated I couldn’t work out why the change in IAS knots during a one minute shot had to be multiplied by six to give a correction in minutes of arc to a LOP intercept. Well I think I’ve worked it out. Please see the snap below. The proof and no doubt the proforma make two rather large assumptions, first that the astro will be shot around 40,000ft where TAS is very close to twice IAS, and second that any change in TAS is equal to the change in groundspeed. I’ve not opened a maths textbook for 30 years. Have I got the maths correct?
