Two weeks to Mystic!

The "Celestial Navigation Celebration" is just two weeks away! I look
forward to seeing you all there. It's shaping up to be quite an event. The Senior
Curator of Mystic Seaport, Bill Peterson, has stepped forward to help conduct
tours of the museum's Collections Research Center (where we'll see some nice
old navigational instruments). This is a good case of the "if you build it,
they will come" scenario. I didn't ask the museum management to help us out
since I did not want to burden them with work (or myself with bureaucratic
wrangling), but once they realized how impressive this meeting might turn out to
be, they simply had to jump on-board.
Additionally, we now have a location for our Saturday night group dinner.
It's an unremarkable restaurant called "Jamms" with really good food and good
prices, very close to Mystic Seaport and the motels. Everything picturesque
with an ocean-view is booked for June weddings. Ken Gebhart, well-known to the
list as the Founder and Owner of Celestaire, will be our dinner speaker.
There are many other speakers and events planned for the weekend. For
details, please visit www.fer3.com/Mystic2006 . It is not too late to join us, by
the way. Southwest flies to Providence which is just 40 minutes from Mystic
Seaport and frequently has excellent low fares at the last minute.
