Most certainly the heliocentric model was correct once Newton’s Principia was published, and in spades once Cavendish weighed the Earth.   The heavy Sun overwhelms the Earth’s weight..  Interestingly, though, most of the Solar system’s angular momentum is in the planets.

Fred , you point to the moons of Jupiter, obviously not orbiting  the Earth as evidence of non geocentric behavior.  In fairness to the Pope and the Church, while we now recognize the simplicity of the heliocentric model that didn't prove Galileo correct and certainly not to people who believe the Bible is revealed word of God.  Also we commonly credit scientists for recognizing truth even absent absolute confirmation - eg Galileo stating heavy and light objects fall off the Tower of Pisa at the same rate.

Now we know that the Sun-Earth center of mass frame of presents a simpler picture than either geo or solar centric and that there is no defineable frame of reference that is the truth as sun is not stationary nor is our galaxy or ....
