This is not a specific answer to your question, but the name “Type C” is a name coined by John Luykx the deceased owner of Infocenter. It is doubtful to be recognized by google. It is an A-10 bubble chamber with the light fixture added. It is very likely that the fluid in the bubble chamber has evaporated.

Hi to the team at NavList,

I obtained a Type C Artificial Horizon Bubble Attachment from InfoCenter; Forestville 20747 in 1994. The device has sat unused in a cupboard for many years. I recently put it to use for a few sun sights and some star sights and found the self-contained illumination system is no longer functioning, making the star sights impossible to achieve. The small torch that attaches to the side of the device is designed to direct light through a small focusing lens to illuminate the bubble chamber. I suspect that this focusing lens is broken (it appears to be in good order) and wish to seek advice from NavList members as to the process of disassembly to replace or fix the lens.  Please note the small torch works fine, i.e. the light switches on and off and is bright but when screwed in to the side of the device the light dose not shine through.
