Or deuses ex machina (deus ex machinas?).
For those unfamiliar with the term "deus ex machina" it literally means "god out of a machine," a way in ancient Greek and Roman plays for a god to suddenly appear. Today, its usual use is for something or somebody who suddenly appears without any connection to the plot.
In the case of celestial at the USNA, is there a good reason or is it simply a deus ex machina, ie, appearing for no apparent reason?....
