A general question: of course there's nothing wrong with building your own JSON parser plus it's fun. But do you agree that the folks managing the USNO website tools simply "aren't done yet"? I can't imagine that they created this tool only to generate JSON output, though that is also a nice option to have. I assume someone is finishing up a front-end for their web app that will look something like the old app. Right?
Also, even on the few values in the re-post, there seem to be some apparent discrepancies at the level of a tenth of a minute of arc (comparison attached). Are you querying the API to generate minutes of arc, or are you computing those values from the decimal degrees that you found in the original JSON output? Thanks.
