This is very interesting.
Does anyone have any historical/photographic/film evidence of U boat Navigators using the MHR-1? I cannot remember any mention in books/films like Das Boot.
The Bygrave was not generally used by RAF bombers, (Weems had apparently advized RAF to use the new Air manual short tables, ironically taught by Chichester in the 1940s.)The only evidence I have is the book by Pathfinder chief Donald Bennet who says he used it as his favourite method.
I believe the Japonese also had their own copy, appropriately made out of bamboo. Does anyone know if/ who used these?
Francis.
