Thank you for the explanition.
One thing still bothers me so hopefully you can clairfy it. It seems you are saying that I could use the data from a 1902 almanac to reduce a sight and the lat/long would match up to GPS if the gravity deflection from the vertical was zero?
I know that maps do not match up well over the years but do the Lat & Long?
