Robert,
The Navy MK 5 bubble octant is an ugly ducling for sure but works great and has excellent optics. Works with natural horizon or bubble. A draw back is that the micrometer reas to only 2' precison. John Letcher used this model with no issues on his Atlantic crossings. I sure like mine. $200 is a good price for very good condition. $100 will get a good one on Ebay.
