    Thank you Mr Reed,

I used the ABC Tables , in Nories during my seatime years, some 50 years ago. Then I found the existence of British Admiralty Chart No. 5000, a real British way of solving a problem.
Then, when came the first calculator with trig functions, I entered the formulas , "standard spherical law of cosines written in a calculator-friendly clean format", just as you said.
Then came the first computers (TRS-80). I wrote an assembler code for a Line drawing, the word "Line" wasn't part of the Basic language.
The I wrote a small sofware do draw a fix with 3 or 5 intercept lines, with the data entered by the user.

But I couldn't bring my TRS-80 onboard the ship. Too big.

You feed me with astronavigation and software writing (amateur) and I am good for a looonnng way.

I will have a question about Long Term Almanac later on.

    Regards
    Jacquelin Hardy
