Thanks much Stacy, Here is the other half of the story in criptic form. Joel LST 1194 SINKEX LST 1194 ran aground during a UNITAS cruise off Chile in 2000 and was stricken from the Navy List on 17 November 2000 due to the irreparable nature of her damage. in June 2001 she was towed to sea and sunk as a target during a SINKEX (Sink Exercise) in June 2001. These photos show the series of weapons fire it took to sink the ship.
