     Robin,

    When you record the time of your sextant sights how do you write down the time?  Do you say 18h 37m 36s or do you record 18h 37m 35.75s

    In 1/4 th second the GHA of the sun has changed by 0.1' .  In one second the GHA changed by .25' if you ignore the v correction.  The NA displays data to the tenth of a minute of arc so if the GHA was .04' it will be writen as .0'   One  second later it will be .29' and be recorded as .3'  Two seconds later it will be .54' and recorded as .5' and ........

    The point I am trying to make is yes, you can not be shure if the written data in the NA is accurate to .1' arc you can be shure the data is accurate to the nearest SECOND.
