Varuna, the Contessa 26 in which Tania Aebi sailed around the world, has been abandoned west of Gibraltar. Appears that the skipper was unwilling to handle the shipping traffic and make landfall without working electrical systems. He called a passing vessel on VHF and left Varuna.

Navigation without GPS, Radar, etc. combined with reasonable seamanship suggests that a different outcome was possible
