:-) Of course, truth be told, the lamp-post is the easy part; I
can improvise a plumb line anywhere on dry land. But the part that's
actually difficult is the almanac data. Next time I'm lost in the desert, what
are the odds that I have remembered to bring my Nautical Almanac? Or I'm in
range for cell phone access to get online data? I also need GMT, but I figure
that's the easy part.
