I have just seen venus in daylight!!!!

At 31/3/2020 0405 UT at 41S  175E I went outside and saw that the moon was clear of cloud. I hurried inside and from the Nautical Almanac app determined that

    Sun Az  298° H 22°

    Moon  Az 020  H 23°

    Venus  Az 348°  H 25°

I immediately noted that venus and the moon were at the same altitudel, separated by 32° in azimuth. That, I reasoned, should make it easy to find venus.

I went back outside and pointed one arm at the moon and the other at 90 degrees, from which I estimated 30 dgrees.  Unfortunately there was cloud but it looked as though ithe sky was clear at the altitude of the moon.

I started scanning the sky with 7x50 binoculars. and there it was! A bright pinpoint of light. I am confident that it was not dirt on the lens - it was too bright and moved as my hands shook.

I did not attempt a sight as there is no way I would have seen venus in the AH.

FWIIW I I had been asked to estimate the altitude of the moon I would have said 30° or greater.
