This morning there was thick fog. It has now cleared and the forecast is for 19°C with light southerly breezes. The forecast is a little ambiguous but I think the sky will stay clear. Yesterday I saw venus at 0405 UT so today if I want the mon at the same altitude I need to look at 0425 or there abouts. I have checked the app and the moon and venus wiill differ in azimuth by 45 degrees, which will be easier to estimate than 30°. Altitudes will be moon 20° and venus 24°.
Frank thanks for the hint about seeing venus with the naked eye. I have six or seven hours to prepare. I intend to identify 348° (venus) and see if there is a suitable reference point.
There are two potential problems. Firstly there are hills at 348°. Secondly yesterday the big yellow thing was behind cloud. Today it is visible in all its glory and will be 49° from venus.
If only I had purched a celestaire refurbished bubble sextent when I thought of doing so............
