Thesis: If this was a typo, it was a special kind of typo.  It was a Freudian typo or ‘brainfart’ from a practised authority based upon the fact that at around the dates of the equinoxes, Venus will only be visible to the unaided human eye in one of two possible very approximate directions.  Think about it:  Earth & Venus orbital diameters, direction of sunrise and sunset, and a memorybank of past lectures given on the subject.  ‘Sta-ar of the e-ven-ning, pretty little evening/morning star-ar-ar, ……’  DaveP
