    Venus in daylight ...right NOW
    From: Frank Reed

There's an excellent opportunity to see Venus in daylight right now (Sunday afternoon, Sep. 8). The Moon is about 40° from the Sun. Since the Sun is near the equinox, the Moon is at lower Declination. Here in southern New England, that places the Moon about 30° high in the SSW. Venus is about one degree directly above the north horn of the crescent. Once you find the crescent Moon, which may be the tougher task, Venus pops right out. Try binoculars or a sextant scope if you don't see it right away...
