In reply to your post - thank you for it - it is very appropriate that you did mention Venus Center of Light and Center of Gravity.
In publishing my results I assumed that Tony was actually observing and recording Venus Center of Light rather than its center of Gravity, which - as you say - were apart by approximately 0.1' .
From these 8 LOP's, I have a computed a "least square error" position through giving each of them its own weight. Therefore, like your method, it is no use to make any attempt at defending it since we can only get a mathematical error ellipse, which can be so beautifully depicted through other Software, such as Andrés' for instance. It certainly would be quite interesting to get it published onto NavList.
Anyway, it is great reviving some old days of NavList through working up real world observations and discussing results.
