Frank I will follow your example and use local time..........

Here at 41s 175E it is about 1540pm local time on a "rabbits" day. From a Nautical Almanac app I have

    Sun  Zn 301°   Hc  53°

    Moon   000°    55°

    Venus   014°    47°

However I have a problem. Nowhere in your viewing venus in daylight instructions have you explained  what to do about the white stuff that sometimes covers the sky!

A pity because I could have tried a moon meridian sight. I assume it would be the same as a sun meridian sight.
