Re: Venus near the Moon, Feb. 1 in daylight

It is 0320 UT. Venus is on the meridian at altitude 48°. The Sun and the moon have passed the meridian so their apparant (local?) time is pm. I remain lost because I have been unable to perform  noon sights for any of the objects. I thought about getting my copy of Cloudy Weather Johnson down from the book shelf but that would not have served any purpose. I think that Johnson's method  requires the celestial object to be visible for at least a few seconds. At 41s the 8/8ths cloud seems to be permanent.
