I’d temporarily forgotten about parallax despite my earlier comments. If the lower scale didn’t slope into a knife edge, parallax is certainly possible. How much would depend upon how high the edge was above the arc as indicated by my earlier example. If it is parallax, 2 degrees lower into 1 degree 50 minutes upper, the next thing to work out is how to read the scale. However, the tea’s ready. DaveP
