I have a 5th edition dated 1937 that is exactly like your 1935 book. I have a 6th edition dated 1942 that is like your 1940 book with table 1A and also instructions for the use of table II that has the numbers from 90 through 179 along the bottom. The column labeled "89" at the top has "90" at the bottom and there is a list of minutes along the right hand edge starting at "0" at the bottom and running up to "60" at the top. The instructions for using table II state for angles greater than 90 use the numbers along the bottom for degrees and the minutes by reading UP along the right edge.
