I like the E6-B for instruction since it draws the vector diagram so that a student can see what is going on which leads to understanding and is less llikely to lead to errors, right correction instead of a left corrrection, etc. It is probably the best for infrequent flyers for the same reason. I keep my MB-2A with me at all times, in my carry bag, even when not flying. Back in 2008 I even used it in my motel room while driving around the U.S. to respond to a navigation computational problem here.
