Another sail-training operation is closing up shop. The schooner Virginia, a beautiful vessel, is heading back to Norfolk, and previously scheduled programs have been cancelled. They are making an orderly shutdown of it and putting the vessel up for sale. Details at schoonervirginia.org. At least it's not the travesty that Connecticut has found in the Amistad. Next let's see if Rhode Island can screw up as badly as Connecticut. Currently they're sailing the Mystic since the OHP isn't ready yet. Meanwhile thre restoration of the schooner Ernestina in Massachusetts should be able to progress now thanks to two major private donors.
