If the device mentioned is what I think it is, it was developed by Eric Rechlin, possibly along with some other people too.
Mr. Rechlin has or had a web site and price list for a number of items he offered for sale, some books/manuals and hardware items. I've purchased some of his offerings, and are as described. I have not acquired one of of the 34s calculators. In the future, who knows.
Unfortunately, I cannot come up with his price list and descriptive material, he might have taken it down or I'm mistyping of something. You might try "goggling" him, a number of titles come up.
