Hi Igor,
Thank you for your reply and the links.
I have to admit I have a history of asking questions the answers to which I am unable to understand.
I have accessed both the links, the one with the maths, (when I come across the formulas I glaze over) and the shortened version which is written in Dutch. However I have found much of the original document very interesting and useful. When I have digested it I may have another question or two..
In the meantime there is a suggestion in the document that the Dip tables were adjusted in 2008 but I am unable to find any difference in the copies I have to hand.
"Since 2008 the Nautical Almanac has based its refraction and horizon dip tables on the so called modified US 1976 standard atmospheric etc etc."
Just wondering if anyone has any pre and post 2008 copies of the refraction and Dip tables and is there any difference?
Thanks
Mike
