    Aha, radars!   But barely visible -- when Frank first posted the photo I
    looked at the masts and rigging for anything anomalous (eg, flags and
    radar reflectors) but totally missed seeing the radar domes against the
    while masts.
    
    Interestingly, it looks as if both schooners have their fore topmasts
    removed.  As I understand it, fishing schooners shipped their topmasts
    (usually fore and main both) for the winter months both because winds
    were stronger (and hence topsail driving power wasn't needed) and also
    because it removed a high-up surface on which ice could build up and
    destabilize the boat.
