Greg - Actually, I didn't develop a shorter SR form because I preferred to solve the formula directly using Weems' basic log table. The reason for this is I found I was more likely to get lost in the more complicated tables of 208, 211, and Weems' LOP Book, than to do the extra arithmetic of The Secant Time Sight. With the formula right there in front of me, it effectively set out the steps to take. After getting Ho, GHA, Dec, in the usual way, I'd write out the formula, get p, s, and (s - h), then go to the log sec/csc table - 4 entries for the logs of the top and bottom of the formula, then 1 more entry for the answer. The draw back is the need for a form to keep all the ducks in a row. Having to divid by two in a couple of spots is a pain. Have you found any way to reformat things to save steps ? > > Greg > > --- On Thu, 12/13/12, Hewitt wrote: > >> From: Hewitt >> Subject: Weems' time sight 1 of 2 >> To: "gregrudzinski@yahoo.com" >> Date: Thursday, December 13, 2012, 10:12 PM >> Here's a photo of the formulas he >> used and a page of his sec/csc table. >> >> >> >> >> Sent from my iPad
