1733] German Sextants).

I would like to say "welcome aboard" to Nicolas, who is a hydrographic 
surveyor from the Netherlands. He attended the recent symposium on 
historic instruments at Greenwich, and brought with him his modern 
replica of the Spiegelboog, a development in Holland of the 
cross-staff and backstaff, merged, with a mirror. He has published an 
account in the recent Bulletin of the Scientific Instrument Society.
