The drift of the clocks in "cheap" GPS receivers has been discussed on NavList before. GPS satellites send a pulse once a second generated by their onboard atomic clocks. It is possible to buy GPS clocks which will correct for the lag time between the satellite sending the signal and the clock receiving it and so give time that is accurate to a few nanoseconds. GPS clocks (as opposed the clocks in GPS receivers) are the most accurate you can get outside having your very own atomic clock. I called Suunto this morning, before sending my post, and they confirmed that the X10 watch has a menu choice where you can run the watch synchronized with the GPS time signal, so they would appear to actually be (capable of being) GPS clocks as opposed to watches with GPS receivers inside them.
