Thanks John,
I agree. I regularly get to 1' in perfect conditions, but they do not seem overly common in West Cornwall!
Thanks for the heads up on Podmore's book, which I did not know.Managed to find on line bookseller at £2.60. Buyer beware though! the cheapest at Amazon uk was £90.00!
I like Frank's very sensible suggestion that I/we have a bigger boat to help improve sextant accuracy.
May I suggest that the wealthier members of Navlist club together and fund say a 60-70ft classic schooner or the like?
You know, nothing fancy, maybe a John Alden circa 1920's in perfect condition? Perhaps name her Luna Bella or some such?
Would need crew of course! Home port somwhere nice like Antiqua?
Just a thought?! (Apologies if a bit off topic!)
Best wishes
Francis
