Thank You All for the advice. I agree with everyone who posted to my question and Thanks again. So far I have ordered a used C. Plath (been wanting one since I was 3 ft tall) from India (now that I have some reassurance on ordering from there). I have yet to recieve. I'll keep my MK 25. I'm still looking for a good Astra III but may go new. If anyone here has a good Astra IIIB I'm interested. I'll root around for a Davis II also. They are pretty solid and that is what I used for the first sights I ever took (Thanks for the maintence tips, good to know). Sorry not to have responded sooner my old computer crashed and am still setting up the new. When we go I may have 4 sextants that work. I'd be very happy with that.

FOR the record:  The 1 to 2 KM off was based on my last 20 or so star (Sirius) and planet sites. My Suns and Moons vary a bit. That is also under ideal conditions on dry land and my wife as timekeeper. The last couple years when I ask her if she want's to go out for shots it has a whole new meaning ; )

BRUCE: Good to know it's possible to shoot Polaris with a full horizon mirror (I never came close). Just a thought but 1/2 horizon mirror might be a little clearer for the dimmer (from here) stars. They do sell them for the Astra's. New I think about 70 or 80 $ U.S.  Even to get the Sirius shot's for me on a perfect day I had to use molasses in the artificial horizon.
