Hi All, I finally got to give my 'Luna' sextant a trial run. When I bought it off ebay Frank suggested that the Luna is a early model Astra (pre Celstere) and should be pretty good the pan I was using for my AH had a leak so I wound up using a mud puddle and no wind screen - I had some minor ripple issues but I finally got a stable image and took a few sights the first one was 'away 3.5 nm', the second yielded 'away 2.2 nm' , it was getting to be time to walk the dog so I squeezed in one more sight , this one was 'away 1.2 nm' I have not taken a sextant sight in a few years so I'm assuming it will keep improving with practice - up to a point. Any and all thoughts / comments are welcome. Thanks. ~Greg
