Because shipping to Germany and then bringing the item back to the US seems too complicated, and if the item is shipped to the US, I will not be able to inspect it soon and file a report:-) But I am actually shopping for a sextant now. Yesterday I visited several shops in Hamburg. My impression is that the prices here are higher than in the US, possibly because of the very unfavorable exchange rate. Alex.
