Because it pivots into position how do you have a repeatable reference to 
level? Each time you place it into position it might be different and that?s 
not the same as a bubble in the sight tube, which has a repeatable position, 
and the tube will be level even if the frame of the instrument is tilted a 
bit. So with a sight tube won?t you have the same measurement while with this 
arrangement you are measuring towards a reference more then 12? from the 
eyepiece? I am not sure I am describing this in a way that makes sense but 
it?s the best I can do.
