PS: Added at the last minute based on your latest post... You asked about the day of the week. Google does indeed list the day of week as its very first result, but I suspect this is biased for standard American date formats. If I Google "August 18, 1950", it works. It was a Friday.
While I was googling I discovered that the www works as I think Berners-Lee intended. I came across the following interesting statement about 1950

It is interesting how countries "claim" people. AFAIK Comrie did all his work in the UK. Even if he had departed NZ at age one week he would still be described as a NZ computing pioneer!!!
Now another question----- is 18 Aug 1950 a Friday in every time zone. I am inclined to say yes.
