Brad,
Why not just use Zulu time? I would take off from New Jersey and plan to meet an airborne tanker over the Atlantic. The tanker took off from Spain, No one cared what local time was.
Why not just have the whole world use one time zone? If the concern is for global trade and not local conditions than one time for all. Of course some people would eat lunch at 2:00 AM and the farmers would get up to feed the cows at 5:00 PM but so what - the stock traders would be happy.
The artical that Gary posted seems to suggest that people no longer base their activaties on daylight but the clock. Well, I don't want my grand kids here in Nebraska going to school in the pitch black of the night just because it is sunny in New York. I think the artical shows, once again, the total disregard the peopel on the coasts hafe for the folk in the middle of the country.
I agree, do away with Daylight Savings Time. Stop moving the clocks east.
