Actually I am moving towards having my library as text files, HTML
files, and PDF files on my hard drive. I have at least 1000 books on
my computer, where I can search through them all in moments. That is
what has made the pruning of my books do-able.
There will always be books that I want in hardback to take outside to
read, but there are a class of books that are not classics that you
simply use for reference on occasion and they are perfect candidates
for computer-based books.
Someday we may get color LCD displays on laptops that one can
actually read in outdoor light, but until then, we're stuck with
indoor only reading on computers.
