Not that many, at least in one sitting.
When I finished college in 1984 I had to pack up my books. I had a
friend read me the name and author of each book as he packed it into
boxes with me. I typed the info into OverVUE, a great fast database
that I had on the Macintosh at the time. It barely added to the time
of packing the books.
The database was moved into HyperCard and has been there ever since.
Sadly HyperCard does not run on the new Intel Macs so the database
will now become a flat text file.
When I sell a book, a delete it from the list. When I buy a book, I
take 30 seconds and add it to the list. Maybe one 24 hr day has been
spent on the list in total.
And yes, I have a list of my CDs, a list of my DVDs, a list of the
places I have lived, etc.
