I was intrigued to see (given Joshua's 0.5 mile fix constraint) as to whether that is significant Lars.
So I recalculated the fix:
01° 25.5' N 172° 58.6' E (using Suns actual Declination for each sighting)
01° 25.2' N 172° 58.0' E (assuming Sun's Declination doesn't change between sightings)
The distance between the above two fixes is 0.67 Nautical Miles (the same distance for WGS84 or Spherical Earth Model).
So to meet Joshua's constraint,
> What is the 0300 fix to the nearest half a mile?
then the subtle declination change (between sightings) of the Sun, is "relevant" for Joshua's scenario.
It is nice to see how fast the sun is "Galloping South" at this time of year, as it attempts to try and warm us hapless "Down Unders", coping with the depths of Winter ;-)
