    Roger.  This method recommended by the Royal National Flat Earth Society might give you a rough position to start from.  Draw a square grid axes declination and hour angle. Plot the position of your chosen stars. From these positions scribe arcs equal to the zenith distance (90-alt) of the two stars.  With luck you'll get a 90 degree cut near where you're hoping to be.  You'll need two stars as high and as far apart in the photo as possible. Sirius and Procyon with ZDs 75-80 degrees compared to their distance apart might give a very poor cut.  More to follow. Dave P
