On 2016 Nov 4, 08:28 -0700 Robin Stuart kindly gave me The Ultimate Answer about using my Casio fx-85ES for unambigious azimuth calculation:
Zc = Pol{ [ cos(LatAP) · tan(Dec) - sin(LatAP) · cos(LHA) ] , [-sin(LHA) ] }
The θ value is in the correct quadrant, and I add 360° when the result is negative thus obtaining some nice Zc.
Now I wonder what the meaning the r value has of the Pol() function output. Could it be somehow interpretted in terms of navigation? Is it the great circle distance from my E.P. to the G.P. under the observed body?
