Which eye to use with the kamal?

I started with experimenting the Kamal. I can only use it, when I look with one eye. I suppose I have to use my "dominant" eye for this?
I find it difficult to hold my hand still and because you have to line up first the object, and then look down on the scale for the value, the value differs because the hand is moved. I suppose this is normal?
