A new BBC article asks the question "Will anyone ever find Shackleton's lost ship?". It contains links to published papers from the 2019 Weddell Expedition that made a search but was unsuccessful due to the loss of their Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). The article also contains the statement, "Where the Endurance went down is well known; the ship's captain Frank Worsley logged the position using a sextant and a theodolite." As shown by Lars Bergman and myself in our Journal of Navigation article "On the Location of Shackleton's Vessel Endurance", the actual position of the wreck is subject some uncertainties of several nautical miles and is further south than the log puts it. We are cited in their published paper so future attempts have a shot at finding it.
