But when using the correct datum the "error" in longitude (we don't know about the absolute latitude of the location so the difference in the latitude is not considered) is less than 10 meters, how good do you need a position from a hand held GPS to be. And that error includes all the effects that cause variation in the derived position not just the contribution from the GPS unit itself.
