People of Earth: our scoutships have examined your planet and determined that, due to a design flaw, it is far too cloudy for celestial navigation. We will begin removal of this flawed model and initiate construction of a replacement as soon as you have completed installation of a system of atomic clock navigation satellites in orbit around the planet... What's that? You already have several orbiting navigation satellite systems?? Excellent news!
Commander: You may remove the cloudy planet at your leisure. Use their own satellites for targeting!
And now a navigation puzzle: what are you looking at in this very cloudy image? It's a quarter of the globe, so you should be able to recognize something, right? Can you see your house from here?? Also, what is the date? You can determine an approximate date (two options?) from the orientation of the terminator (the sunset line). You can determine an exact date from the second attached image.
