Re: Zone Time -- longitudinal or political?

In the Pacific there is a nation made up of specks of land cast across an
immense swathe of ocean that has decided to unite them all into the one time
zone. Unfortunately, this straddles the international date line ...

    Talk about confusing!

There are a few places that defy logic or use their own versions. The
Russian train system, straddling 8 (?) time zones, runs the whole system on
Moscow time, so if you're a train user in the far east you certainly need to
    track both time systems.
